Los Critics' Choice Awards se han entregado sin sorpresas pero cargados de toques de atención a las recién anunciadas nominaciones de los Oscars. De hecho, han servido de compensación para excelentes trabajos ignorados por la Academia, como el guion adaptado de Perdida, así como el montaje y la música —esta última, descalificada de cara al Óscar— de Birdman. Lo más curioso al respecto es que tanto la película de animación La LEGO película, como el film extranjero Fuerza mayor y el documental Life itself han sido laureados por esta asociación en sus respectivas categorías tan sólo un día después de ser ignorados por la Academia. Por lo demás, Michael Keaton, Julianne Moore, J. K. Simmons y Patricia Arquette se han confirmado como indiscutibles favoritos de sus respectivas categorías y Boyhood se ha afianzado de cara a los dos galardones principales, pese a ceder los concernientes a guion original y reparto a su principal contrincante de la temporada: Birdman, que, con 7 premios —incluyendo merecidísimas menciones al sonido y la fotografía—, ha sido el largometraje más galardonado pese a perder el relativo a mejor comedia frente a El gran hotel Budapest —cuya excelencia visual también se ha materializado en sendos reconocimientos al vestuario y la dirección artística—, lo que ya le sucedió en los Globos de Oro. El entorchado a mejor cinta de acción ha ido a manos de Guardianes de la galaxia, superproducción que ha conseguido compaginar un grandísimo éxito de público con un notable recibimiento crítico, materializado también en un galardón a mejor maquillaje. Precisamente, esa es la única categoría en que estos premios no coincidieron con la Academia el año pasado, así que no olvidéis repasar su listado de ganadores antes de hacer la quiniela de los Oscars.
